reflecting

We have been here in Missouri over a month now. I must say we are really enjoying the move. The house we moved in has had some problems. The biggest one is fleas. For those of you who know me well things like that really bother me. I couldn't figure out why Aaron and Emily had all of these little bites on them. Ben thought at first it was because they play outside in the grass. Then one day Ben was down stairs and one landed on him. We have sprayed down stairs since and I hope we solved the problem.

Ben is loving his job. He takes photos of promotions, head and shoulder portraits of the soldiers, special occasions, balls, training and change of command. Needless to say he is in his element. His bosses are very cool and are family oriented. This was a good move for him.

I found a job on post at an Elementary school called Pick as a Remedial Reading Teacher. I am really enjoying this. The district is paying for me to get training in the Reading Recovery program. So at the end of this school year I will have 8 credits paid for.

The kids are enjoying our two story house. They have made friends at day care. Aaron is having some problems developmentally so we are seeking help from the district. He will have speech soon and I have asked for a full comprehensive test. I am hoping he is just going through a weird phase but if there is a problem I just want to be able to help him.

I am missing the shopping in Las Vegas. There is only a Walmart here in Saint Robert but I do get to use the commissary on base. If I want fabric I have to travel 25 minutes to the next town. They have a little shopping center with a few stores. So I really have to plan my shopping trips.

All in all we are happy with our choice to move. The people here have been very helpful and we find them to be most hospitable. We do miss our friends and family. You are all welcome to come and visit.

We took time tonight to make home made play dough. I let Aaron choose 4 different colors. Here we are making the first color green which turned out to be the best one even thou all the others were made exactly the same. This is our attempt at helping Aaron gain fine motor strength in his fingers. Took him for pre school screening and did not like the outcome. He was lower than I had thought. This is me feeling guilty and trying to make up for lost time.

No that is not a goatee

We were craving ice cream so we got these cones from commissary that had caramel inside them. Emily just LOVES ice cream, but would rather bite the cone at bottom.

My dream was to always have a little girl. I try so hard to make her look cute. However she always rips the stuff out of her hair. We tried to put soft rollers in her hair, but she ripped them out also. Her hair is just to soft and fine to keep the rollers in.
